“Seminar on Environmental Law” First Announcement and Call for Papers Research Institute of Environmental Law, Wuhan University Wuhan, China 24-26 October 2003

The Research Institute of Environmental Law (RIEL) in Wuhan University ranks as one of the KEY RESEARCH INSTITUTES OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCE IN UNIVERSITY in China. It is also the unique research institute on environmental law under the State Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) of China. In order to develop researches on environmental protection and legislation domestically and internationally, RIEL plans to organize the “International Seminar on Environmental Law” during 24-26 October 2003 in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China. Experts and scholars who are interested in this subject are all welcome. Matters concerned are arranged as follows:

1. Topics The topics of the Seminar focuses on the international environmental law, WTO and environmental law, the implementation of environmental laws & regulations, environmental disputes, environment lawsuits, case studies and so on.

2. Time and Venue Time: October 24-26, 2003 Venue: Wuhan University, Wuhan, Hubei Province, China

3. Participants One hundred participants are estimated to be present. Most of them are scholars and experts engaged in studying and teaching environmental and resources law in China and abroad.

4. Registration Time: October 24, 2003 Venue: Luo Jia Shan Zhuang, Wuhan University, Wuhan, Hubei Province Please send your schedule in advance to the seminar secretariat, and the seminar secretariat will arrange pick-up at Wuhan for every participant.

The overseas participants’ cost (accommodation，meals and travel) in China will be covered by RIEL. 3.
