讲座题目:Legal and institutional arrangements for managing intractable natural resource management conflict: The case of coal and coal seam gas extraction in Australia’
主讲人: Dr Amanda Kennedy, Acting Director, Australian Centre for Agriculture and Law, University of New England.
主讲人简介:Dr. Amanda Kennedy is currently the Acting Director of the Australian Centre for Agriculture and Law at the University of New England. Dr Kennedy has extensive experience in law-based multidisciplinary research, which has been shaped by her interest in contract law and dispute resolution. Her research spans a range of themes, including rural social policy, and instruments and institutions for effective natural resource governance. Dr Kennedy’s recent research projects include a $133,000 Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations grant to develop strategies within the undergraduate law curriculum to prepare, attract and retain lawyers and other legal professionals for legal careers in rural and regional Australia; a $375,000 Australian Research Council Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (DECRA), to explore effective systems for managing intractable natural resource conflict; research into the social licence of agricultural industries; research into the legal risks and benefits associated with ‘unbundling’ rights (to carbon, water and other evolving interests) in land; and research into the use of non-legal instruments (such as social marketing tools) to manage natural resource use. Dr Kennedy teaches within UNE’s LLB program, and also supervises Masters and PhD students. She is currently the Course Coordinator of UNE’s Master of Sustainability program, with oversight of six LLM units which span a range of topics concerning the law and policy of sustainability.
