On behalf of the Chairman of the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s World Commission on Environmental Law (IUCN WCEL), I would like to invite you to apply for membership of the Commission.

You may be interested to know that the current President of the IUCN is a well-known Chinese person. He is Mr Zhang Xinsheng, Secretary-General of Eco-forum Global in Beijing; see http://www.iucn.org/?11060/IUCNs-New-President-elected Also, the World Commission on Environmental Law is working with Mr Zhang and Eco-forum Global on a joint seminar on environmental law during the Eco-Forum Global international conference in Guiyang in July 2014.
We are making a special effort to increase our Chinese membership of the IUCN Commission on Environmental Law. We are looking for enthusiastic environmental lawyers who are willing to contribute to the IUCN World Commission on Environmental Law’s work in China, in the Asian region, and globally. We encourage both experienced environmental lawyers as well as younger environmental lawyers to join the IUCN World Commission on Environmental Law. Those with less experience are encouraged to join the Early Career Group
If you have any questions about membership, or about the work of the IUCN World Commission on Environmental Law, please write to me, preferably in English, but otherwise in Chinese. If you write in Chinese, I will ask one of postgraduate assistants at Wuhan University to assist me with translation.
