Professor Mehdi is the Member of the working group “Law and Justice”, Union for the Mediterranean Mission, French Republic Presidency (2008); Member of the High-Level Advisory Group on Dialogue between Peoples and Cultures established at the request of the European Commissions president (2003); Member of the Workgroup of the Conseil dEtat (French administrative supreme court) on “the insertion of the community standards in France” established at the request of the Prime Minister ( 2006 ); Expert for the CARIM - Consortium for Applied Research on International Migration – European University Institute (Firenze) ; Short term expert for the Algerian Ministry of Justice (Program for implementation support of the association agreement European Union – Algeria - 2010) ; Head of an experts team selected to conduct a strengthening mission of the structures of the Law Research centre of the Algerian Ministry of Justice (2011); Member of an appraisal mission to assess the Moroccan highest education and research system (2011-2013); Author of two reports for the European Parliament “Evaluating the efficiency of pre-infringement Tools (EU-pilot and CHAP)” / “Analysing the effectiveness of infringement proceedings” [2013]; Expert the Tunisian, Constitutional National Assembly (2013); Training for Algerian diplomats, College of Europe (until 2012); and Author of many books and many articles. His main fields of research: European environmental law,Institutional and Constitutional European law, International law, Human rights law, law of the area of Freedom, Security and Justice.
