Professor Chen Haisong was born in Wuhan, Hubei. He completed undergraduate studies in law at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law. He completed a PhD in Law at Wuhan University. In 2009, he was selected as Visiting Scholar at the Institute of Law, Academia Sinica, Taiwan. In 2018, he was selected as Senior Visiting Scholar at Yale University, USA. In October 2018, he was selected as Hunan Legal Expert by Hunan Law Society. In 2019, he was selected as Outstanding Young Scholar of Humanities and Social Sciences by Wuhan University. Now he is member of the China Environmental and Resources Law Society, Deputy Secretary-General of the Academic Committee, Standing Director of the China Health Law Society, Legislative Consultant of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress. Currently, he is concentrating his research in basic theory of environmental law, construction of ecological civilization system, interdisciplinary research in the field of ecological environment. His representative monograph includes National Environmental Protection Obligation (Peking University Press, 2015) and Research on Environmental Law from the Perspective of Interpretation Theory (Law Press, 2016).
