On the afternoon of December 6, 2018, the eighty-first Luojia Lecture Series on Environmental Law was held in classroom 325 of law school. Prof. Marjan Peeters gave a lecture on “The EU comprehensive licensing management and environmental responsibility system”. This lecture was hosted by Dr. Hu Bin. PhD and master students from RIEL attended this lecture.

At the beginning of this lecture, Prof. Marjan Peeters discussed the regulation path of EU environmental law and the comprehensive licensing system. And she also introduced the Directive 2004/35/CE of the EU on environmental liability with regard to the prevention and remedying of environmental damage. Under this framework, the polluter-pays principle was improved and developed.

At last, those present teachers and students had a friendly and pleasant exchange on the relating content. The lecture ended in a warm and relax atmosphere.
