On December 19, 2018, RIEL and Shanxi high people’s court held a symposium on environmental resource trial at Taiyuan. This symposium was chaired by Zhai Ruiqing, the vice president of Shanxi high people’s court. Prof. Qin Tianbao, Prof. Feng Guo, Prof. Zhang Li’an, Prof. Xiang Yan, Prof. Zhang Zhubin from law school of Wuhan University, and some judges responsible for environmental resource trial attended this symposium.

At the symposium, experts and judges conducted in-depth discussions on judicial protection and trial practice of environmental resources. Judges introduced the development and the problems of environmental resource trial in Shanxi province. Prof. Qin Tianbao made a brief introduction on the construction of the environmental law research institute and the theoretical research work of environmental law. Prof. Feng Guo, dean of law school, said that some academic research results of law school are leading in the international and domestic academic research. The next step is to conduct all-round and in-depth cooperation with Shanxi high people’s court in personnel training and academic research.

In recent years, RIEL has attached great importance to cooperation with courts and procuratorates at all levels. In November 2015, RIEL was designated as the environmental resources judicial theory research base of the supreme people’s court. And many researchers from RIEL were employed as consultants or argumentative experts of courts and procuratorates at all levels.
