RIEL teachers were invited to participate in the Asia Pacific Climate Change Justice Forum

February 26-27, 2018, Prof. Qin Tianbao, Director of RIEL, and Distinguished Professor of the Thousand Talents Plan, Ben Boer, were invited to attend the Asia Pacific Judicial Colloquium on Climate Change in Lahore, Pakistan, and made speeches on the forum. The Judicial Forum was organized by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the UN Human Rights Office, the Punjab Justice Academy in Pakistan, the World Conservation Union (WCEL), the Global Environmental Justice Institute, the Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law of the Wallburg, and the University of Wilderness, Delaware Law School etc.

The Judiciary Forum is divided into seven modules: "Evolution and Innovation of Environmental Constitutionalism and Rights", "Development of global and regional climate justice", "Concurrence of environmental constitutional government, rights and climate justice" and "The judicial implementation of environmental constitutional government, rights and climate justice", “Judges, Environment and Access to Justice in the Asia Pacific Region”, "Judicial Relief and Implementation", "Next steps plan, conclusions and recommendations" , etc. In the third module "Concurrence of environmental constitutional government, rights and climate justice", Prof. Ben Boer made a keynote speech titled “Climate Displacement, Justice, and Courts”

Prof. Qin Tianbao gave a lecture entitled " Climate Litigation: Is it a proper discourse concept for China's environmental protection court?" in the sixth module "Judicial Relief and Implementation."
