RIEL Leading Group Visits Xie Zhenhua and other Friends in Beijing

In November 29, 2017, coincided with the 124th anniversary anniversary of Wuhan University's founding. Prof. Qin Tianbao, Director of RIEL, Prof. KeJian, deputy Director of RIEL, Doctor Hu Bin, deputy Director of RIEL, assistant Prof. Li Guangbing went to visit some of RIEL friends.

Prof. Qin Tianbao and other professors first visited the national development and Reform Commission and visited Xie Zhenhua, deputy Director of the national resources and Environment Committee of the CPPCC National Committee, the special representative of China's climate change affairs. Xie highly praised RIEL's outstanding contributions to the environmental rule of law work in the past decades, and expressed his concern and support for the work of RIEL as always. He hoped that RIEL would further strengthen the research in the field of ecological civilization, rule of law and international environmental law, and increase the work of building think-tank, so as to provide strong intellectual support for the construction of ecological civilization and participation in the negotiation of the world environment convention.

At the national development and Reform Commission, Prof. Qin Tianbao visited RIEL friend, the inspector of the law department, Hao Yafeng. After that, they also visited RIEL friend, Ms. Wang Yan, Director of the China Environmental Law Project of the NRDC. During the visit, they also held discussions with NRCD international project leader Jack Schmidt, China Project Communication Director Fang Jian, marine fisheries analyst Li Wei, project lawyer Wu Qi and project officer Zhang Xiya. Hu Bin, deputy Director, introduced the basic situation of RIEL and the important initiatives and progress in discipline construction, international communication and rule of law practice in recent years.

During the stay in Beijing, Qin Tianbao and his colleagues visited the friends of the relevant ministries, such as the Ministry of environmental protection and the Ministry of water resources, and informed them about the development and reform direction of RIEL in recent years, and listened to their opinions and suggestions.
