September 12, 2017 - 29, RIEL deputy director Dr. Hu Bin, doctoral students Li Haomin, Wu Junya, master student Xia Bin visited the University of Aberdeen. During the visit, Deputy Director Hu Bin talked with Prof. John Paterson, Vice President of the University of Aberdeen, Prof. Greg Gordon, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Tina Hunter, Director of the Energy Law Center, Dr. Emre Usenmez, Head of East Asia Affairs, Aberdeen University separately.
The two sides focused on how to effectively strengthen the cooperation between University of Aberdeen Energy Law Center and RIEL and carried out fruitful exchanges and discussions. The two sides agreed that the Wuhan University - Aberdeen University Environmental and Energy Law Joint Research Center will be established in the Aberdeen Day in Wuhan University at the end of October 2017, and held the opening ceremony. The two sides agreed in principle, in the spring of 2018, the energy law center master student co-training project will start, which will adopt 2 + 0.5 + 0.5 way. The University of Aberdeen will offer a range of discounts for tuition fee for RIEL students.
During the visit, the delegation visited the classes of law of oil, gas law, renewable energy law, contract law, legal practice, commercial law, international arbitration and so on, and met with teachers of energy law, international law, commercial law, criminal law and the history of law. They have expressed a strong desire to cooperate with the relevant disciplines of our school law school, especially when they learned that our school law subjects have been selected national first-class construction from the news, they expressed the hope to visit to Wuhan University as soon as possible.
During the visit, the delegation also communicated with the master students of the Aberdeen University School of Law and briefed them on the project of the PhD program in English of RIEL, which was received wide attention. The delegation also met with the Chinese and British presidents of the Confucius Institute at the University of Aberdeen, established by Wuhan University.
