RIEL teachers and students participate in the fourth cross - strait environmental law seminar
On April 22-23, 2017, the fourth cross-strait environmental law seminar was held in Chongqing with the theme of "Development and Practice of Environmental Law in the Age of Cooperative Governance". More than 100 environmental law experts and scholars from both sides of the Taiwan Straits participated in the seminar. The seminar was organized by the China Environmental Resources Law Research Association. Chongqing University Law School, Chongqing Municipal Law Society Environmental Resources Law Research Association, Chongqing No. 1 Intermediate People's Court and Chongqing University Research Center of Environmental Resources Legal Construction of Western China, are hosted this seminar. RIEL Prof. Cai Shouqiu, Prof. Li Qijia, Prof. Ke Jian, Associate Prof. Luo Ji, Director Hu Bin and a number of doctoral and undergraduate students attended this seminar. Prof. Cai Shouqiu, President of China Environmental Resources Law Research Association, delivered a speech at the opening and closing ceremonies. Prof. Li Qijia served as the commentator, Prof. Ke Jian and doctoral student Wu Junya made speeches.
The seminar included a thematic report and four thematic presentations. In the thematic report, Prof. Cai Shouqiu gave a lecture entitled "The Road to Governance of Public Utilities", which describes the problems in the use of public utility and how it should be solved. In the course of speeches, Prof. Ke Jian gave a report entitled "Face Recognition of Environmental Law——Basic Issues of Cross-Strait Comparative Environmental Law", which explains the basic problems of continental and Taiwan environmental laws from the perspective of comparative law. RIEL doctoral student Wu Junya also made a speech entitled "Legal Regulation of Environmental Public-Private Cooperation", which first introduced what is environmental public-private collaboration, and then explored both the regulatory principles and regulatory mechanisms of environmental public-private collaboration. Prof. Li Qijia made a wonderful comment on the speeches. Cross-strait scholars have discussed the theoretical and practical problems of environmental justice in a concentrated and in-depth manner in the light of the latest progress of their respective environmental laws, and have discussed the issues in detail and put forward corresponding opinions and suggestions.
