On May 5, 2017, the seminar on the research on the Institutionalization of Environmental Damage Responsibility Principle was held successfully in Beijing in the 12th session of the Environmental Law Forum jointly sponsored by the Institute of Environmental Law of Wuhan University and China Environmental Protection Industry Promotion Association. the president of China Environmental Protection Industry Association, Yang Chaofei, the deputy director of CPPCC National Committee of Social and Legal Committee Lu Zhongmei, the division head of the Ministry of Environmental Protection Policy and Law Division, Yan Ee, Supreme People's Court Environmental Resources Court Jia Qinglin presiding judge, and more than 20 representatives from the environmental social organizations such as the Conservation Planning Institute, Renmin University of China, China University of Political Science and Law, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Tianjin University, Wuhan University and China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation and Friends of Nature participated in the meeting.
The opening ceremony of the meeting was presided over by Prof. Qin Tianbao, director of the Institute of Environmental Law of Wuhan University, and he made the initiation report on research on "Institutionalization of Environmental Damage Responsibility Principle". Chairman of the China Environmental Protection Industry Association, Yang Chaofei, made a background report on the background, current situation and research focus of this research.
The meeting is divided into three themes: theme 1 of "the Basic Theory of Institutionalization of Environmental Damage Responsibility Principle" hosted by President Yang Chaofei. Theme 2 of "Status and Dilemma of Institutionalization of Environmental Damage Responsibility Principle" was officiated by Guo Yucheng, Senior Consultant of Beijing Huatai Law Firm. Theme 3 of "the Way to Realize Institutionalization of Environmental Damage Responsibility Principle" presided over by Prof. Qin Tianbao. In each theme, experts and scholars from the theoretical, practical fields have carried out heated discussions.
Finally, President Yang Chaofei made a brief conclusion of the meeting, he thought that the meeting has invited the CPPCC, the Supreme Court, the Ministry of Environmental Protection, civil society and other practical departments and the top domestic civil law, environmental law experts and scholars, which has played an important supporting role for the follow-up study. In the future, the Institute of Environmental Law of Wuhan University and China Industrial Environmental Protection Association will actively absorb the intellectual achievements of the meeting, do follow-up research work, and make a specific contribution to "Institutionalization of Environmental Damage Responsibility Principle".
