Recently, the General Office of the Wuhan Municipal Committee and the General Office of the Wuhan Municipal Government issued the "Notice on the Outstanding Achievements of the 15th Social Science in Wuhan". Prof. Qin Tianbao’s article published in the SCI / SSCI Double Index Journal "Sustainability"," The Challenges Facing China's Sustainable Development and Its Legal Response: A Perspective of Social Transformation "won the first prize. After Prof. Qin Tianbao’s monograph won the first prize in 2008 in Wuhan City (11th) social science outstanding achievement award, this is the second time he won the award. RIEL Prof. Qi Jiangang (second author)’s work, "the basic principles of administrative law of catastrophic risk" won the second prize.
The article "The Challenges Facing China's Sustainable Development and Its Legal Response: A Perspective of Social Transformation" on the basis of defining the concept and characteristics of China's social transformation, i.e. from agricultural societies to industrial societies and from industrial societies to risk societies, in light of the new requirements of sustainable development of this two kinds of social transformation, analyzed the existing deficiencies of current China's environmental law. The article argues that under the current coexistence of two kinds of social transformation in our country, the development of the law should satisfy the requirements of sustainable development in the process of transformation from agricultural society to industrial society, and also meet the needs of industrial society to risk society, based on which the article also puts forward some improvement suggestions of the legal concept, the principle, the system and the implementation mechanism.
It is reported that Wuhan City (15th) social science outstanding achievement awards consist of 20 first prizes, 46 second prizes, 85third prizes, 109 excellent prizes.
