Hu Baolin is guest on RIEL Alumni Salon

On the morning of April 18, 2017, the 16th RIEL Alumni Salon was held at the conference room of the Law School Room 325. We had the privilege of inviting RIEL alumni Hu Baolin, who is the master student in RIEL in 1989. He brought a lecture entitled "Looking at the development of latest environmental law on the basis of retrospect of the revision of the 1989 environmental law".

The salon was chaired by Prof. Wang Shuyi, Prof. Feng Guo, Dean of Law School, Prof. Du Qun, Associate Prof. Li Guangbing, Associate Prof. Luo Ji, Director Hu Bin, doctoral and master students have participated in this salon.

At the beginning of the salon, Prof. Wang Shuyi introduced the personal experience of Hu Baolin, and Prof. Feng Guo, Dean of Law School, also came to express his welcome to Hu Baolin.

On the basis of its long-practice experience in environmental legislation, the director Hu Baolin carried out a comprehensive interpretation of the evolution of environmental protection law from 1989 version to 2014 version from the perspective of social and political background. Then, the director Hu Baolin carried out a comparative analysis of the specific contents of the two environmental protection laws, and analyzed in detail the deep consideration of the environmental law provisions behind the sentence.

At the end, Prof. Wang Shuyi summed up the lecture given by Hu Baolin. He said that even if he engaged in environmental law research for so many years, Hu Baolin’s lecture still let him benefit a lot. Prof. Wang Shuyi stressed that we should learn how to understand the words behind the legal language from this lecture. Students have also raised their own questions, Prof. Hu Baolin have given a detailed answer, the salon ended in a warm and relaxed atmosphere.
