Zhang Junjie visits 44th Luojia Lecture Series on Environmental Law
On the afternoon of November 25, 2016, the 44th Luojia Lecture Series on Environmental Law invited Assoc. Prof. Zhang Junjie, the director of Environmental Research Center of Duke University, Kunshan. He delivered a lecture entitled “Effect Assessment of Corporate Environmental Credit System: Empirical Analysis Based on Jiangsu Province”.
Firstly, Prof. Zhang briefly introduced the policy origin of the environmental credit system, the existing domestic laws and regulations and the status of international environmental performance evaluation system. Then, Prof. Zhang made the overall review and analysis of validity of corporate environment credit system in Jiangsu Province by using the economic and statistical method. By analyzing the results of the 2015 environmental credit evaluation of state-controlled enterprises in Jiangsu Province, he concluded that the corporate environmental credit system has played a certain role in encouraging and disciplining, but how to define the concept and content of environmental credit still need further research.
Prof. Qin Tianbao summed up the lecture, pointing out that the empirical research method is worth to be popularized and applied. In the interactive session, students discussed with Prof. Zhang about the setting and influencing factors of corporate environmental credit system evaluation, as well as the liability insurance rate in China.
