Delegates of RIEL attend “2016 Environmental and Resources Law Forum on Western Development”

On November 5, the“2016 Environmental and Resources Law Forum on Western Development” was held in Kunming University of Science and Technology. Prof. Cai, Shouqiu, Prof. Wang Shuyi, Prof. Li Qijia, and alumni Assoc. Prof. Song Lei, Assoc. Prof. Guo Wu, Dr. Li Yiding, as well as several scholars and experts attended the forum.

After the opening ceremony, Prof. Cai Shouqiu gave a keynote speech entitled “New Progress in China’s Environmental & Resources & Ecological Legislation”. Prof. Wang Shuyi introduced the foreign soil legislation in detail, and made a deep discussion on the choice of soil legislation in China. Prof. Yang Shilong made a brief comment on the speeches of the above experts.

In the second phase of the forum, Prof. Zhang Shuxing, Prof. Guo Wu, Prof. Gong Wei and Assoc. Prof. Du Jianxun made wonderful speeches, respectively. Prof. Guo Wu carried out a profoundly simple exposition on China’s environmental legislation in the context of codification, and Prof. Gong Wei explained the challenges and coping strategies of synergic control of air pollutants and greenhouse gas from the perspective of law enforcement. Prof. Li Jihe, the vice president of School of Economics and Law of Northwest University of Political Science and Law, gave the comments and affirmed their speeches. The experts and scholars have expressed their opinions and suggestions on the construction of environmental and resources legal system in western development.
