RIEL’s delegation visits the University of Aberdeen
On October 6-9, Prof. Qin Tianbao, Prof. Ben Boer, Assoc. Prof. Li Guangbing, and Dr. Hu Bin visited University of Aberdeen, UK. During the visit, the delegation met and had a conversation with Prof. John Paterson, the vice-president of Aberdeen University, Prof. Dr. Wertuda, director of China affairs, and many other professors.
The University of Aberdeen presented the relevant circumstances of its Confucius Institute, Energy Institute, School of Law and the Energy Law Center, and expressed their strong willingness to further strengthen cooperation and exchanges with the RIEL. Prof. Qin Tianbao introduced the basic situation of RIEL and expressed that the two sides can jointly set up degree programs, teacher exchanges, international symposiums and international projects. Prof. Qin also invited a number of colleagues to visit Wuhan University at a convenient time for short-term lectures.
On October 7, the Energy Center of University of Aberdeen held the “Sino-British Symposium on Comparative Study of Energy Law”, during which Prof. Qin Tianbao delivered a speech entitled “The Latest Development of Climate Change Legislation in China”. And Assoc. Prof. Li Guangbing gave a report on the “Evaluation and Analysis of Energy Conservation Law in China”. Dr. Hu Bin and Prof. Ben Boer made speeches entitled “Carbon Trading or Carbon Tax – China’s Choice” and “Renewable Energy Law and Sustainable Development in China”, respectively.
