环境法所参与大型国际合作项目结出硕果
RIEL’s large international cooperation project bears fruit
At the invitation of IUCN, RIEL’s large international cooperation research project “Law for Sustainability” has made positive progress. As one of the main achievements of the project, the English book “Framework for Assessing and Improving Law for Sustainability: A legal Component of a Natural Resource Governance Framework” was published recently.
In 2014, in order to implement the 2030 UN Sustainable Development Agenda and bring law and governance into full play in the process of sustainable development, IUCN, the world's largest environmental organization, launched a large international cooperation project aiming to evaluating and improving the framework for natural resources governance in environmental governance. The IUCN Environmental Law Center, World Commission on Environment Law and Commission on Environmental, Economic and Social Policy were jointly responsible for the project implementation, wishing to provide a reliable and strong legal method for multi-aspect assessment of natural resource management and improve the effectiveness of law in natural resource governance.
Ben Boer, the “1000 Talents Plan” distinguished professor of RIEL, and other three international experts were responsible for coordinating the project. Prof. Ben Boer, as a major member, has developed a methodology framework for legal assessment of natural resource governance, and served as the co-editor of the book “Framework for Assessing and Improving Law for Sustainability” (download from http://www. lawforsustainability.org/resources).
