首次博士生跨学科沙龙成功举办
The first doctoral interdisciplinary salon successfully held
On April 19, 2016, the sixth Luojia Forum on Environmental Law & first doctoral interdisciplinary salon “Water Pollution and Ecological Compensation—Dialog between Environmental Law and Economics” was held by RIEL. Two master students from School of Economics and Management and two doctoral students from RIEL attended this forum, as well as Prof. Du Qun, Assoc. Prof. Luo Ji from RIEL, Assoc. Prof. Li Xuesong from Economics and Management School and all students of RIEL.
In the session of students report, master students Cao Wanyin and Wu Ping from School of Economics and Management carried reports entitled “Rural Water Environment, Economic Growth and the Policy Effects” and “Time, Problems and Countermeasures of Ecological Compensation Standard of Chinese River Basin” respectively, and PhD students Du Yin and Mei Fei gave reports with the themes of “Comparison between Chinese and American Legal Systems of Water Saving”, “Information Disclosure and Public Participation in Water Pollution Prevention Law” respectively. Four reporters exchanged academic ideas on water pollution and ecological compensation” from the perspectives of economics and environmental law.
Assoc. Prof. Li Xuesong pointed out that disciplinary difference between environmental law and economics can indeed be seen through four speakers’ reports, and he expressed his views on research objectives and methodology. Prof. Du Qun commended that the interdisciplinary salon is very unique and beneficial to method of communication, stressing that the conversion should not be mechanized when conducting interdisciplinary research. Assoc. Prof. Luo Ji summarized that this form of interdisciplinary communication is a new attempt with unusual effects and encouraged more improved academic exchanges in the future.
