Lawyer Wu Qing visited Luojia Lecture Series on Environmental Law

On March 26, 2016, the 23th Luojia Lecture Series on Environmental Law invited lawyer Wu Qing, the partner of Beijing Kindu (Guangzhou) Law Firm, she gave a lecture entitled “Environmental Law Practice” for teachers and students of RIEL.

First, Lawyer Wu made a brief introduction of the establishment and development of Kingdu Law Firm as well as its human resources team, offices, clients and international status, which shows its frontier position in both traditional areas and emerging legal services. Next, Wu Qing mainly detailed Kingdu’s environmental law business by citing a list of projects, summarizing the phased achievements since Kindu formally initiated environmental business in April 2014. She illustrated the four main business segments including environmental consulting and environmental special legal services, investigation and evaluation of environmental risks and handling the environmental emergencies, environmental litigation and government programs by specific examples. Finally, Wu Qing lawyer described the Kindu’s specific requirements of environmental lawyers, in particular, emphasized that lawyers should not only be equipped with legal research ability, writing skills, language skills on the basis of accumulated expertise, but also have a feeling of environmental charity and professional integrity.

Subsequently, in interactive sessions, Prof. Wang Shuyi talked about his feelings and also pointed out that a lawyer need to have superior ability of discovery. And Assoc. Prof. Luo Ji expressed that Kindu has a high demanding of personal qualities because its own comprehensive business, so students should pay attention to their own ability and enhance their competitiveness.
