Xia Guang appointed as the part-time professor of RIEL and visited Luojia Lecture Series on EL

On April 8, 2016, Xia Guang, the director of Economic and Policy Research Center, Ministry of Environmental Protection, was appointed as the part-time professor of RIEL. After that, Prof. Xia Guang gave a lecture entitled “Green Development and Environmental Governance”, which is also the 27th lecture of Luojia Lecture Series on Environment Law. This lecture was chaired by Prof. Qin Tianbao, Prof. Li Qijia, Prof. Ke Jian, Assoc. Prof. Luo Ji, Dr. Hu Bin and all postgraduate students attended.

The three main parts of this lecture included theoretical viewpoint of green development, actively developing green economy, and strengthening environmental governance. First, Prof. Xia explained the property and reasons of green development, then introduced the progress and development of green economy practice in our country by referring to specific data and real cases. Finally, Prof. Xia Guang detailed the main policies of environmental protection, emphasizing the government’s decisive role in environmental protection.

It is said that Xia Guang is the director and researcher of Environmental and Economic Policy Research Center and the winner of special government allowance from the state council. He has engaged in policy research and management of environmental protection for a long time, publishing 7 books and more than 200 papers and participated in more than 60 projects.
