RIEL successfully hosted Seminar on Environmental Multi-governance
On April 7-8 2016, the 5th Luojia Forum on Environmental law “Seminar on Environmental Multi-governance” hosted by RIEL and the proposal discussion meeting of 2015 annual major project of National Social Science Fund of China(NSSFC) “Research on Risk-based Environmental Management Multi-governing System” were held successfully. Almost 20 experts and scholars from Environmental and Economic Policy Research Center, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Suzhou University, China University of Political Science and Law, Jilin University, Remin University of China, Southwest University of Political Science and Law, Hunan Normal University, Zhongnan University, Huazhong Agricultural University participated in this forum.
In the morning of April 8, the opening ceremony was presided by Wu Yan, the director of Academy of Social Sciences, WHU. Luo Yuting, the deputy secretary of WHU, briefly introduced the development of WHU and RIEL in recent years and emphasized the RIEL’s important role in environmental rule of law, which is the important think-tank and has undertaken hundreds of state-level scientific research projects.
The first unit of this forum is the proposal discussion meeting of 2015 NSSFC major project. Firstly, Prof. Qin, Tianbao made the proposal report of “Research on Risk-based Environmental Management Multi-governing System” and introduced the research significance, framework and expected goals, research routes and methods as well as research focus, the difficulty and innovation, work arrangement and time schedule. In the discussions session, Prof. Ke Jian, Dr. Guo Hongyan, Prof. Wang Xiaogang et al expressed their own views and suggestions to the opening report. In the expert comments session, Prof. Wang, Xi and Dr. Xia Guang pointed out that the decision-making of project should be based on theoretical research, emphasizing practical application at the same time. In the end, Prof. Qin, Tianbao made the summary of this activity, pointing out that combining the forum and lecture is a new attempt with significant effects.
