李玉文教授作客珞珈环境法讲坛 畅谈“中国法研究与写作”
Prof. Li Yuwen visits Luojia Lecture Series on EL
On November 11 afternoon, 2015, Prof. Li Yuwen, the director of Chinese Law Center, Erasmus University Rotterdam, was invited to the 12th Luojia Lecture Series on Environmental Law. She gave a fantastic speech titled “Chinese Law Research and Writing”.
First Prof. Li Yuwen made a rational analysis on why study Chinese law overseas, she believed that China had made great achievement in legal construction since the reform and opening up, leading many countries to engage in international research on Chinese law. Then she detailed the subject of Chinese law research, one of which is the Western academia, the second type of research institutions is foreign law firms, and the third is government policy makers and the large NGOs. And Prof. Li introduced some common methods used in studying Chinese law, including academic analysis, comparison and empirical research. Next she spoke of the academic and social responsibility of a Chinses law scholar, who should learn to think independently and critically. Finally, Prof. Li put forward her views on topic selecting and doctoral thesis writing. After the lecture, many students positively communicated and interacted with Prof. Li.
